DEPRESSION ?

Prophet Elijah was a man of God. He was anointed with tremendous power. Shocked by the idol worship in the land, and being indignant, he warned the king thus: "As the Lord, the God of Israel, lives whom I serve, there will be neither dew or rain in the next few years except at my word"!
So it happened! He challenged the false prophets of the idol worshipers and defeated them. This made Jezebel the queen who was the promoter of idol worship angry and she threatened Elijah with murder.
The triumphant prophet , to our surprise ,was startled , fled into the desert and prayed that he might die!
Yes, he was depressed to death! He also was a man like us ! But he overcame the depression by the timely interference of the Lord. The Lord told him to get up and go forward doing what he had been commissioned with. Elijah came back to his former vigour and strength and began his triumphant walk!

Dear brothers and sisters, do'nt you see many a man around us depressed and down cast? We are expected to be the liberators of these our fellow beings being in the hands of God who liberated Elijah. The full story you can read in 1 kings chapter 17 in the Bible.
God bless you, your brother Silvester

The Liberator

THE LIBERATOR

Everybody needs liberation - Liberation from everything that makes us unhappy and

worthless in life.

St. Paul was a liberated man. He was liberated from things which once he deemed to be

of worth . He found the meaning and purpose of his life . He became strong and happy .

This happened after his encounter with Christ on the Damascus Road. See what he says

about his life thereafter :

" For me to live is Christ and to die is gain " - Philippians 1:21

" I desire to depart and be with Christ which is better by far " - Verse 23

What he means by this ? The whole meaning of his life is Christ ; The purpose of his life

is to live for Christ! Is it not?

Then the next question :

Who is this Christ to be the meaning and purpose of his life?

He answers in his letter to the Ephesians 1 : 22 - 23 -

He is the Fulness of God Imparted to man in the vessel of Jesus.

In his letter to the colossians 2:9 he says :

" For in Christ all the fulness of the Deity lives in bodily form , and you have been given fulness in Christ "

Do you want to know more about this Christ who came in bodily form in Jesus ?
